Domain Names
The foundation or starting point for a website is a domain name, (i.e., www.reodr.com). Domain names are acquired from “Domain Name Registrars.” You need to know that there are numerous registrars, but the only one I recommend is Godaddy.com. The reason being is their control panel is tops and you can make changes to your domain name without needing to open a trouble ticket or contact customer support. When I first started my online business, I had domain names with Network Solutions, 1and1.com and a few other registrars. But as soon as I registered my first domain with Godaddy.com, I ended up transferring all of my domains over. The price is right and the service can’t be beat!

Here’s my only caveat: DO NOT use Godaddy.com for ANYTHING else except registering your domain names. If you need web hosting, SSL certificates, etc., get those services from companies that specialize in what you’re looking for. As great as Godaddy is when it comes to registering domain names, they are iffy when it comes to web hosting, website builders and the other services they offer.

Web Hosting
As you’ve probably learned, there are hundreds, if not thousands of web hosting companies and their resellers and affiliates. But what you might not know is the wrong web hosting company can hamper your online venture(s). I’ve used a number of web hosting companies, but found the best by far is Hostgator.com. Their pricing is phenomenal! You can host an unlimited number of domains with their Baby Package; it’s only $7.95 per month. The cPanel is user friendly and completely intuitive; you won’t spend hours trying to figure out what’s what and how to use.

Keyword Research
There are only two types of website owners that don’t need to perform Keyword Research: those who have got money to burn and those who have got money to burn. Everyone else needs to perform keyword research. There’s essentially two ways to get this essential task done; you can pay someone to do it for you, which is going to be EXPENSIVE, with a capital “E!” Or, you can do it yourself.
